Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece at 2,919 metres high (9,577 feet).Since its base is located at sea level, it is one of the highest mountains in Europe,in real absolute altitude from base to top. It is located in Macedonia, about 100 km away from Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city.Mount Olympus is the home of the Olympians, the principal gods in the Greek pantheon.The United States Congress designated the Mount Olympus Wilderness (map) in 1984 and it now has a total of 15,300 acres.Mount Olympus is a 45km drive from Windwhistle. The mountain road is shingle and chains should be carried at all times. Occasionally mountain access becomes 4wd only from the bottom hut, where onward transport can be arranged.The entire area was declared Greece's first national park in 1937 and consists of eight peaks including the "Throne of Zeus" at 2909 metres and Mytikas which has the highest summit at 2919 metres.
Climbing Olympus has become such a major attraction that if you pitch up without a reservation in July or August you may have difficulty finding a bed for the night.
Once you take to the mountain trails you'll quickly realise why the ancients believed this was the sacred home of Zeus, the king of the gods, his wife Hera, brothers Poseidon and Hades, sisters Demeter and Hestia and children. This magnificent mountain range is home to around 1700 plant species, many of which are unique to Olympus. The mountainsides are cloaked in dense forests of pine, beech, oak and cedar trees which harbour various wildlife including wolves, bears and lynx. The slopes are buried beneath two metres of snow in winter and only accessible to the most experienced climbers - even in July the snow lurks in shadowed corners and crevices.

Yushan is a national park and central mountain range in Taiwan. The highest point of the range, Jade Mountain, is 3,952 metres (12,966 ft) above sea level.It is also called Jade Mountain.The average rainfall reaches about 2,220 centimeters per year. The rain season starts every year from May to October, and the dry season begins from November to the next April.

Flowers include azaleas, which abound in spring, and a wide variety of colorful alpine blossoms. The park is home to a large variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and butterflies.Larger animals such as the sambar deer, black bear,Taiwan macaque, and serows can sometimes be seen, and their call is often heard.
The National Parks in Taiwan were established according to the first and sixth clauses of the National Park Laws. Their aim is to protect and preserve unique natural sceneries, wildlife, and historical sites in the national parks and to provide people with a place for education, recreation, and research.Thus national parks should maintain three goals: preservation; education and recreation; and research.

The Al-Hasa oasis is the largest oasis in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.Al-Ahsa or Al-Hasa is a traditional oasis region in eastern Saudi Arabia. The oasis is located about 60 km inland from the Persian Gulf.Al-Ahsa is part of the region known historically as Al-Bahrayn, which included the eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula down to the borders of Oman, and also included the island of Awal.Al-Hasa has a dry, tropical climate, with a five month summer and a relatively cold winter. It enjoys the benefit of copious reserves of underground water which has allowed the area to develop its agricultural potential.

Iguazu Falls are waterfalls of the Iguazu River located on the border of the Brazilian state of Parana and the Argentine province of Misiones.The name of the falls comes from the Guarani word for "great water." The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu.Iguazu Falls, in Iguazu River, are one of the world's largest waterfalls. They extend over 2,700 m in a semi-circular shape. Of the 275 falls that collectively make up Iguassu Falls, "Devil's Throat" is the tallest at 80 m in height. Iguazu Falls are on the border between the Brazilian state of Parana and the Argentine province of Misiones, and are surrounded by two National Parks.
There are more than 270 falls in an area where cliffs and islets are scattered in a half moon. Apart from waterfalls, the jungle offers a series of alternatives in a dump but slightly fresher environment with a wide variety of animals and plants. Almost 500 species of wild fowl, 80 species of mammals and an immense variety of reptiles, fish, insects and butterflies live in this ecosystem.
Iguazu Falls is one of the most visited place in Misiones and one of the most imposing natural attractions in Argentina, and why not in South America. Together with Nahuel Huapi National Park in Patagonia, it is one of the most frequented tourist sites.

Lake Titicaca is a lake Situated on the border of Bolivia and Peru. It sits 3,812 above sea level making it one of the highest commercially navigable lakes in the world.Lake Titicaca in Peru is over 170 kilometers long and lies almost 4000 meters above sea level. It is composed of two nearly separate sub-basins that are connected by the Strait of
Tiquina which is 800m across at the narrowest point.Lake Titicaca is a beautiful and much-venerated sacred lake that lies on the border between Peru and Bolivia.Recently, a large temple was discovered submerged in the lake, adding to its mystery and fascination. A natural spring here runs under the island and appears again in a sacred stone fountain in Yumani.The floating Islands of the Uros people of Lake Titicaca are formed from compacted beds of totora reeds. Walking on these spongy, unstable islands is a strange experience. The
reeds are also used to construct huts and boats. It is believed
that the Uros people originally took to the reed islands of Lake
Titicaca in an effort to isolate themselves from other groups
such as the IncasSunset on the Isla del Sol is magical and best appreciated from
the lighthouse on the highest point on the island at 13,441 feet.
The sun bathes the sacred mountains in bright colors, and
reflects its light in the deep blue of the sacred lake, before
sinking below the horizon.

Davolja Varos is a geographical region of south Serbia, by the Radan mountains near Kursumlija.Davolja Varos, Rock Formation located in the southerb extent of

Varying in color from deep red to sandy yellow and grey, many of the rocks are named after characters, objects or animals they are believed to resemble.The Davolja Varos pyramids in southern Serbia are still in the running to become one of the New7Wonders of
Nature.Since 1959, Davolja Varos has been under protection of the state and by a 1995 decision of the Serbian Government, it was proclaimed a natural good of outstanding importance and put under the first-category level of protection.Davolja Varos, meaning ‘devil’s town’ is a group of earth pyramids in the Radan Mountains in the southern region of Serbia.Djavolja varos is top level in the New Seven Wonders of Nature electio. They choose the 21 finalists, to be announced on July 21, 2009. The 21 finalists will then be put to popular vote. Voting will continue throughout 2010 and into 2011The final declaration of the New7Wonders of Nature will be in 2011.
